The Minister, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssof with H.E. Mr. Koji Yonetani, Japanese Ambassador to Djibouti,
in the presence of the Commander of the Djiboutian Coast Guard, Colonel Wais Omar Bogoreh.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Speaker of the Government, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssof, signed on Sunday February 26th, 2018, in favor of the Exchange Notes on the Socio-Economic Development program for the coast guard. This ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation and was done in the presence of the Japanese Ambassador to Djibouti, H.E. Mr. Koji Yonetani.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation started his speech by thanking Japan for the opportunity at hand and emphasized that the signature of this exchange amounting to 150 million JPY would further reinforce the technical capacity of the Djiboutian Coast Guard by improving their intervention capacity in ensuring security in the Djiboutian waters.
The Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. Yonetani reiterated that this donation given to the Djiboutian Coast Guard serves as proof of the Japanese Government’s will to support and help the Djiboutian Coast Guard in terms of maritime security. He also rehashed Japan’s engagement in further contributing to the reinforcement of bilateral relations between both countries.
