On the 12th March 2017, the President of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, inaugurated the National Investment Promotion Agency’s (NIPA) one-stop shop.
Also in attendance on that day were the First Lady and president of the UNFD, Mrs. Kadra Mahamoud Haid, the president of the General Assembly, Mr. Mohamed Ali Houmed, the Prime Minister, Mr. Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, several other ministers from the government, representatives of the private sector and their Head of Council, Mr. Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh as well as a number of diplomats and UN officials.
There are several points to note from the detailed explanation:
- First, the setup of the one-stop shop functions under the rules set by the NIPA, which is the national body responsible for the ability to produce diagnostics as well as provide the technical assistance and advocacy to support the private sectors’ growth. This will make the Republic of Djibouti stronger and profitable. All these missions prove the validity, availability of capital to the private sector at a rate of 49% as well as the good governance and also the trust between areas of decisions between the public and private sectors.
- The layout of this one-stop shop is done in such a way to allow both local and foreign investors and legal persons to carry out the necessary formalities at one place and at a reduced price. This building also houses men and women from the respective ranks of the NIPA and from various partner institutions.
